Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will it take?

Each situation is different and unique. Short and long-term therapy will be offered based on need.

How long will it take for us to feel better?

Psychotherapy can take a few sessions, or many years, depending on the extent to which issues are explored. Your progress will be evaluated continuously, and treatment goals will be mutually decided upon.

How do I prepare for Couples Therapy?

The hardest thing to do is to pick up the phone to call and make an appointment. Once that is accomplished, all that you need to do is to keep an open mind and allow yourself to develop trust in the therapist.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, and do not bill Insurance companies directly. While I do not make any claims for insurance companies, it has been my experience that insurance companies often either do not pay for couples therapy, or else limit the treatment to a maximum of between 2 and 4 sessions. My office is happy to provide an invoice that you are welcome to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, though I cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed for clinical services.

Do you offer a free consultation to see if you can help us?

Yes. As part of my clinical approach, I want to make sure that my office can help you through this difficult time. I can schedule a 30 minute initial consultation with you and your partner to determine whether or not we can work together.

How do I make an appointment?
